SOFLEX®

YKK’s SOFLEX® zip is perfect for garments or products which require the tape to be folded back to conceal the elements so that it does not disturb the garments design. YKK’s SOFLEX® zip utilises an auto-lock slider and is available in 2CC and 3CC with woven or knitted tape. 2CC is recommended for garments where a lightweight fabric is utilised. 3CC is ideal for garments where a heavier weight fabric is utilised, or a waistband has been sewn through or into.

TECHNICAL INFO

1. [Sewing]

  • The use of a Sewing Machine Guide from YKK is recommended.
  • The operating force of the zipper will increase when the stitching is close to the elements.
  • Be informed that breakage or puncture could take place when sewing on cloth whose thickness varies dynamically, such as the overlapped cloth at the edge.
  • When sewing on cloth with a rough fiber structure or cloth composed of long-coated yarns such as Mohair fiber, please avoid getting the cloth tangled into the machine by giving slightly long intervals between stitches or by other possible methods.
  • Open parts for 3 CC open-end are movable for an easier sewing process.

2. [Washing]

  • When exposing the zippers to washing or related processing, close each zipper in order to lessen the pressure or damage that can result in performance deficiency.

3. [Ironing]

  • When ironing the zippers or the cloth to which they belong, please do so with the zippers closed under less than 130°C.
  • Pressing with a damp cloth is also recommended.
NOTE

Not recommended for heavy-duty usage such as luggage or packs. This slider does not pass CPSC, do not use on children’s garments.
Given the cross lateral force exerted on the concealed zip it is recommended that it is used in conjunction with a Hook & Eye or a Button to ensure the zip is not placed under any unnecessary strain.
